There are an awful lot of clichés in this business.

Here are a few.

"Content is King."

"Build your brand."

"Stand out like a sore thumb."

"Social engagement is critical."

"Search engine traffic is the best traffic."

"Build your tribe."

There is truth in all of these statements and yet to do any one of them using commonly taught marketing tactics like SEO, Web 2.0 (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter etc) or email marketing is really difficult, because results take time and persistence is key. Success is never linear and progress is frustrating.

To make matters worse, the very methods that many "gurus' preach are bearing less and less fruit every day. People are switching off from big Social Media channels on a daily basis and you need a degree in computer science to effectively do Search Engine Optimisation.

Web 2.0 and the industry that is built around it is dying. It just doesn't know it yet. That opens up opportunity.

Blockchain and Web 3.0 are changing the game

We have been printing our own money for 6 years

You might be scratching your head at this and wondering if that's legal. Blockchain technology makes it perfectly legal. By creating content, participants get rewarded by fellow members who vote for and share content that they like. The reward comes in the form of tradeable cryptocurrency (Hive, Hive Power and Hive Backed Dollars) This currency can be bought and sold on various trading platforms. Its value rises and falls with the market, but the capacity to "make your own money" is always there in the form of content creation. Furthermore, the Hive platform has spawned a number of what I call "tribal tokens" all of which can be openly traded on the Hive Engine. These tokens are generated in exactly the same way as the three key Hive currencies are generated. Some of these tokens are gaming related, some are finance related. some are creative related (music, art) and some are affiliate marketing related (CTP, List Nerds). The Hive universe is expanding exponentially with new ideas, new tokens and new ways of earning real money simply through creating content. The potential for it to change the game is underappreciated and unprecedented.

To fund and build Web 3.0 initiatives.

To understand how web 3.0 will work, you have to understand how Web 2.0 has worked. Web 2.0 basically makes you the product. Your data is harvested and sold by big tech to whoever thinks they can make a buck out of you. Web 3.0 flips the script and places the power back in the hands of the content creator. While there is much talk about the meta verse, web 3.0 is the next logical and perhaps safest next step. Independent content creators are reimagining social interaction and making it more engaging and more rewarding. As, my good friend Jo Olson often asks, "When was the last time Facebook paid you for liking or commenting on a post?" Web 3.0 makes that possible and importantly, t helps to decentralise internet engagement and big tech censorship. Hive is at the very forefront of Web 3.0 and you need to be aware of what is happening in their space.

We are so far ahead....

Yes they are and its still really early. Early adopters are going to be very well placed. Just to reinforce how this works. You can get paid to like, comment and share other people's blog posts and videos plus get paid for your own content.
